Ram problem!

You may not have the frequency set in the BIOS? Set it to AUTO see if that makes any difference. If it is already set to auto try changing the frequency to that near the correct frequency i.e. 533 MHz. This is the memory frequency though.. not to be confused with the CPU bus frequency. Can you post the screen shots of CPU-Z

i have posted a screen shot

Ok guys can you tell me why Cpu-z tells me my rams max bandwidth is 400Mhz (pc-6400)]
I wouldn't worry about what CPU-z says on the [SPD] tab but rather what it says on the [Memory] tab. By default your kit will set itself up as 400MHz (DDR2-800) but its quite easy to change this to 533MHz (DDR2-1066) in the BIOS . . .

Thats also a problem evey time i try geting mine to 533Mhz it wont post and resets the bios

Th3D0n, it seems your board doesn't officially support DDR2-1066 but from a quick search of the web it seems a lot of people are able to run it no problem! :D

I'm not familiar with a Gigabyte BIOS layout and page 44 from the manual above is confusing heh, how did you attempt to get the memory running at DDR2-1066

Did you try the x 2.0 memory muktiplier or the x 4.0?

When its not overclocked i tryed x 4.0? = 1067
and when it is overclocked any thats takes the memoy over 1000Mhz dosnt work

Most motherboards don't "officially" support PC2-8500 but you should still be able to select a DRAM frequency nearest or at 533MHz (1066MHz effective). Are you sure it's not in the drop down list?

x2.0 is no where near 1066Mhz

Ok was worth a try, I didn't know the BIOS showed you a preview of the speed when you changed, I also wasn't sure if the BIOS is showing you real memory speed or effective memory speed (533MHz vs 1066MHz).

So when you change the memory multi to [x4] does that preview box list 1066

Also what is that High Speed DRAM DLL Settings option?

Wish I could help more but I'm not familiar with your board (or BIOS options), the chipset it uses is three years old so getting DDR2-1066 to run may be a problem?

Are you running the lastest BIOS?

the BIOS is showing real memory speed

At x4 it shows 1066

High Speed DRAM DLL Settings- not sure to be honest but as far as i know it dosnt do much iv tryed chaging it with no luck

thanx for all the help
