RAM quickie

Is it OK to mix different types of RAM rather than different speeds?

So, if I had 2 x 512MB of DDR2 PC6400 and 2x 512MB of another brand of DDR2 PC6400 on the same mobo would this be OK? I assume it would be, just wanted to check [the latency timings may be different though].

It's ok as long as the voltage reccomendation is the same and you set the timings to the loosest set of RAM.
