I'll soon be receiving a new IP35-Pro and will be looking to upgrade the RAM when it arrives.

I've currently got 4 sticks of 1GB Ballistix but I'll be selling those off as 2x1GB to two of my friends. I'm after 4GB in total, preferably 2x2GB sticks, with some potential to overclock my Q6600 that was running at 2.8Ghz before. I am, however, aiming for 3.0-3.2Ghz stable.

I'm told with using two sticks over 4, I'm less likely to stress my system out and have more flexibility to overclock the CPU.

Any recommendations?

The OCZ kit thats been on TWO a few times lately is fine for what you mention - I have it and another 2gigs of G.Skill running in an IP35 Pro with a Q6600 @ 3ghz with issues :)

For some more serious overclocking they might well be useful but my 6400 does just fine!

Up to you really ... if you want to spend the extra - otherwise you could get 8 gigs of the OCZ stuff for that price ;)

Corsair XMS2 has done a brilliant job for me, and very cheap. Black dragon was also very good but couldnt get it stable when I had 4 sticks of it installed...

Well I'll be wanting to overclock my Q6600 to around 3.2Ghz whih seems to be about the standard these days. 8GB sounds tempting but I don't think it'll help with stability with the OC. My old Ballistix was 8500 but I doubt I'd notice much of a difference?

I'd have also thought I could knock it up to 3.2Ghz with 4x1GB anyway, but apparently not...

For 3.2Ghz then the 6400 would be fine, it's really up to you if you want to spend the extra for that extra headroom in the future if you decide to o/c more ferociously or change hardware so can o/c more easily or whatever.
