I wrote to Team Group and asked for their advice. They replied that:
"Dear Sir, Thank you for contacting Team Group RMA team.
Team Group is always trying to provide you with simple and efficient customer service.
1. Please check CPU-Z SPD,you need load XMP, that’s will 3733.
2. According to your request,
It is because of the difference in capacity conversion between manufacturers and PCs.
Hardware manufacturers use the metric scale, i.e. 1K=1000 bytes.
However, Microsoft uses the binary scale, i.e. 1K=1024 bytes.
Therefore, the capacity of a 3733 disk will become+-5GB when displayed on Windows.
Thank you again for contacting with our Taiwan RMA team,
If there is any further questions please don’t hesitate to let us know,
We hope you will be satisfied with our service and thank you again for choosing Team Group products."
Now I did look in CPU-Z and I did actually see my ram listed correctly so that is a good thing. Unfortunately I cannot for the life of me get XMP to work without an "overclock failure" or "missing memory" error ... So I think you may be right. I shall have to go back to OCUK for a return
