Hey guys,

I found out that my ram clocks are causing my problems. I THINK that command rate 1T makes them unstable at 250Mhz 2.5-3-3-7 (corsair XL Xpert 2x512). Is this normal or I am concluding wrong here and I should just slacken the timing or increase volts while keeping 1T? How much Vram can these sticks take?

Any experienced people with this hardware please advice!

Thanks a lot.

Well DDR can go anywhere from 2.6v (as some chips like less voltages) all the way to 2.9/3.0v. As long as you have some airflow over them. 2.9v would be the max for me.

7-3-3-2.5 @ 250Mhz is really tight. What I'd suggest is try upping the voltage slightly to 2.7v or 2.8v and see if that fixes the problem. Otherwise the only other thing would be to drop the CAS from 2.5 to 3.

I don't really like saying run 2T instead, because the performance drop means you need an extra roughly like 15-20Mhz on the speed to compensate.

What you could do if you have time. Find the most stable at 1T, do some benchmarks and run SuperPI. Then run it at 2T, compare the performance drop. Then try clocking it even more and finding the highest at 2T. If that beats the 1T score then use those settings instead. :)

Trial and Error really. :D
