RAM troubleshooting before RMA

Hi. I would like some RAM troubleshooting advice before I RMA.
Mobo = Asus Prime x370 pro, RAM = Corsair Vengeance LPX 8GB (2x4GB) DDR4 PC4-24000C15 3000MHz, CPU = Ryzen 3 1200, GFX card = sapphire nitro+ 470 4GB

With both RAM modules installed (in the recommended dimm slots), I can't get to the bios screen. I pull one out and it boots to mobo bios. Switch the RAM sticks and again I can't boot to bios.

I've updated the mobo bios and double checked the ram is on the mobo compatibility list, but still can't get the system to boot with both of them in. Am I looking at a faulty stick, or is there anything else I can/should try before I return the RAM?

Looking at the return policy here, I would have to wait for the ram to be tested and I won't have a desktop for around a week or so as I don't have any spare DDR 4 RAM :(

This is only my 3rd build so I'm no veteran, and cheers for any input
