RAM upgrade interfering with IO controller on P5W-DH 975X

Hey All,

Its a very very strange problem. I have recently bought 2 more dimms now making 4x 1GB. The system works fine if ANY 2 Dimms are in ANY 2 slots. However when you add a 3rd or 4th stick (in again, any slot combo) Vista fails to boot (even in Safe mode) with a 0x0000007B error - ive googled this to be an INACCESSIBLE BOOT DEVICE error.

Edit: I have reset all bios settings to factory also... Overclocks ruled out first thing! ;)

The hard discs in question are on the JMicron Raid controller. Interestingly, when i tried to boot Knoppix from a DVD-ROM on that same controller, it indeed failed also.

Safemode does load some components upto crcdisk.sys... hmm!

Could this memory upgrade be somehow affecting one specific raid controller on the PC!? Any help or ideas would be much appreciated - im at a loss!

Many Thanks, Ed
