Ram with built in processor??

What's on the back? Any label? Do you have any idea what series of RAM it is? i.e. PC133, DDR etc
DDR2 I believe? On the back is just memory modules all the way across.
Where did it come from? I've worked with custom hardware that housed a 'processor card' a board that used the same connection as a RAM stick - but wasn't in anyway compatible.
or is it just a registered DIMM with an overkill chip on it - but it looks big enough to be a memory controller.
