Ok wanted to buy either the cellshock or xtreem ram. But I came across the crucial ballistix, was wondering what chip are they using?

Edit: never mind, found out they are using the same micron d9 chip as the other 2 brands.

Which one would you guys prefer?

- Cellshock
- Crucial ballistix
- xtreem

I have taken a look at the G. Skill HZ which uses the same chip module.

Anyone experienced in RAM? Give me opinions please.

Crucial just on the basis of the warranty and 48-hour UK-based RMA.

The Cellshock has to go back to Germany and the Team RAM has to go back to Taiwan. The other thing about Crucial is you know it's always Micron RAM, because they are Micron. No contest, I buy Crucial RAM! (said without a hint of irony).

I mate

all are great ram´s and all use Micron chip´s
(unless Cellshock PC2 6400 V2 -this is PROMOS chip)

Cellshock has 5 years warranty
Team and Ballistix have lifetime :)

I have Ballistix and it´s a monster in overclocking ,but TeamGroup is a great company, and ram is top quality

I think Ballistix cost less money, but if that is not an issue, if you buy Team Extreem you got a lot of quality Ram

I have G.Skill PK, no probs getting my E6300 to 3.15Ghz, not sure what was stopping me going further, but I didnt try very hard as im happy at this.

I genuinely believe it's all the same stuff. How else can you explain that it all runs the same timings as the PC8000 Ballistix?

maybe there is a bit better something somewhere, but it all seems to run as fast as the best stuff.

The PC5300 stuff is rated 3-3-3-12 at 667MHz. It also runs 4-4-4-12 at 800MHz and 5-5-5-15 or better at 1000MHz so why would would buy anything other than what was cheapest from The PC5300/PC6400/PC8000 kits?

I have three and a half (OcUK never supplied the cheapie 1Gb stick from the clearance section  ) PC5300 Ballistix kits and they all do 1000MHz no problem.
