Rampage V Extreme - SOS - Boot Loop

Id agree with others and say its highly unlikely both bios chips got corrupted. Although you never know and usually bios flashback sorts it without issue.

Sounds like PSU to me, as both codes are some form of startup initialization. Have you tested it in a different pc? tested a different PSU in yours? Tested any of the cables to make sure voltages etc are all ok?

Would be worth a shot while your waiting for your chip from darket.

I'd also say it may be worth it to re-seat everything as well. Cpu in socket (check pins), mobo in case make sure everythings good there (nothing shorting etc).

Tried the spare PSU but problem persists. I've got a Gigabyte X99 Motherboard coming today so if the BIOS chip doesn't resolve at least I can rule out the CPU.

Shame that. Let us know how you get on with the new board. Hopefully won't be the CPU.

Although intel have great customer support. Having had to RMA a CPU to them before.

It'll probably be better if it's the CPU as I bought new and therefore have warranty. I bought the RVE from one of the guys on here, so lesson learned there as I think I must've saved £80 from new and the fella doesn't post here anymore.

@darket I received the chips today mate, got them installed and... Same problem. So it's not the BIOS.

I bought a second hand MoBo from the MM just in case this had happened, I installed the 5930k in there... And same problem, boot loop with no video out.

Time to RMA the CPU.

Thanks again for the help, and could you email me your address and I'll get the chips back to you.

Yeah no problem, glad to help. You'll have no issues with the RMA to intel, best customer support I've experienced , i RMA'd a 6800k last year , took around 4 days start to finish.

+1 and they gave me free DHL shipping (£80 odd I think) which was collected the day after contacting their RMA team. Brand new CPU fitted within a week of sending.

One of the reasons I've stuck with intel for so long.

Confirmed, new 5930k was received two working days after posting the old one. Stunning service from Intel.

I've fired up and proved all works again.

@darket I've sent you a couple of emails as I'm looking for your address to send the bios chips back.

Cheers.
