Hello everyone

After months of trouble with my Asus Rampage v extreme ..i finally decided to take my build to a pc shop who have diagnosed that my motherboard is to blame and i need a new one.

I am no computer specialist however i did build my x99 system myself and it has worked like a dream for almost 2 years.

I am looking for a new motherboard preferably an Eatx board as i can not wait months to try and Rma it.

I am using 5930k processor can some one guide me to a decent board around the 250 gpb mark. Preferably Eatx and wireless would be a bonus

Also does anyone have experience with asus europe and rma'ing a 2 year old board.

All help appreciated.

Thanks for your replys

Yes there should be 1 years warranty left..however its a long and painfull process with asus and ****** which i will go through...but i cant go months without my pc working so i need to buy one now. Researching on the web it looks like if i do get anytjong it will be a partial refund from ******...asus have replied to me and said they do not rma directly...which il sure ill pursue.

The boards mentioned above i thought they are all very expensive. I didnt want to spend mre than 250 pounds on new board.

Im not sure what the fault with the board is. The repair shop tested all the parts and said it was the board causing a short and causing system to freeze or shut dowm.

The few gigbyte boards ive seen online around 200pound mark have poor reviews.

Board powers on boots into windows ..after few seconds freeze and powers off. Doesnt matter if in windows or bios...or safe mode...after a minute or 2 complete freeze and then power off..ive tried everything i can possibly do with my little knowledge...disconnecting all devices etc ...now the shop says its motherboard problem..

Just a update if anybody who helped with replies is interested.

I was refunded 80% of original cost of the rampage v which i am quite satisfied with after almost 2 years use.

Was verry hesitant to order another asus board but ended up ordereing asus x99 strix gaming board.

Heres hoping for the best...any issues with this board i need to be aware of.?
Would anybody recommend i flash to the latest bios before switching on the whole system when i put it back together tommorow.

I contacted asus they said they do not deal directly with RMAs you must contact your retailer..

Ultimately the large online retailer makes the decision how they want to proceed.
