Hey guys, so someone hit my car and I got some insurance money! I didn't bother going to a professional as my brother has a Motorsports...form..of..qualification? And was willing to fix it for free and I bought the boot and him a few beers.

So I now have £200 lying around and I think I need a new graphics card. I have a 6850 at the moment.

So, what should I get guys. I prefer personal experience and pure fact, and apparently contradiction.

Thanks

There's been a lot of ooohs and aaaaaahs about the deal on this card at the moment.

Check out this thread, 580 deal is a bit of a belter.

That's only down in price by £8 so not really as much of a stonking deal. I appreciate that the 6970 comes pre-overclocked and has a fancy looking non-reference cooler (I'd actually prefer a refence cooler if I'm honest as opposed to the FROZR, as it would exhaust properly out the rear case instead of just dumping it inside) but I have no personal experience of how much a reference 580 overclocks so I can't really help you compare them fairly!

Ah, I will, but I am selling my monitor as well, but I need a new one of those as well! I'm actually putting about £420 into a new headset, mouse, monitor and GPU.

Wouldn't bother with the 6970 now if I were you. If you're interested in overclocking the 7850 can push somewhere between 7870 and 7950 speeds. 6970 would have to me much cheaper to get me interested.
