My RX570 died and I wanted a cheap card that was MacOS compatible. Kepler cards also allow me to run Win2K or XP if I feel nostalgic so I grabbed an EVGA GT740 Superclocked card.

Wanting to test the "new" card I ran some loops of Heaven, at Superclocked standard frequencies, a Bog-standard GT740 DDR5 frequency and a "ten minutes of messing about quick overclocking".

All results in a 1280x720 2xAA Window (defaults for Unigine)

Results:
Default GT740 (993 Core, 1250 Memory)
FPS:
41.9

Score:
1056
Min FPS:
23.8
Max FPS:
74.3

Superclocked Defaults (1085 Core, 1250 Memory)
FPS:
44.7

Score:
1125
Min FPS:
23.8
Max FPS:
79.3

Superclocked QUICK OC (1175 Core, 1500 Memory)
FPS:
49.9

Score:
1258
Min FPS:
23.3
Max FPS:
89.7

Actually quite surprisingly linear scaling of performance. Kepler cards also easy to tweak BIOS to increase power limits or flash fixed clocks and the SC comes with a 6 pin power connector so plenty of scope to increase power limits. Not sure I can be arsed though!

Anyone else got any similar experiences to share?

EDIT: Flashing the 1202 Core FTW BIOS with 1500 Memory OC, gives me 51.4 FPS! Woot! LOL
EDIT2: Bumping core to 1230 gives 52.3 FPS
EDIT3: Core to 1250, Mem to 1550, gives 53.2, 19% FPS boost over Superclocked and 27% over a stock GT 740.... Not bad

I love overclocking older cards, I've been messing around with a laptop with a maxwell gtx 850m 2gb gddr5 (same die as a 750ti) I've used the maxwell bios editor to get the core to 1307mhz at 1.05v. The default clock was ~867mhz at 1.05v. I can run it stable at 1200mhz at only 0.95volts as well. Performance gain is massive over stock.
