#Random La Cuisine

I stopped ordering fish recently because it seemed like a lower tier fish, even a specified cod or haddock order was lower tier than it used to be.

When oop north I'll have a pattie instead, darn sarf it's a cheeseburger because patties don't exist here. Southerners need to discover the pattie, it's the goat.

Pattie?

Do you mean a fritter?

Yeah! , darn sarth , basic ingredients shaped like a burger and fried is a patty, but when it's fried in batter it becomes a fritter?

The Midlands call them scallops.
On a side note, many years ago in Leeds, I had a fish cake that was a piece of cod, with a thin slice of potato top and bottom battered.
Best fish cake I ever had.

Was a scollop around the Lancashire area too (at least i where i grew up outside Bury)
