Sorry of this is a little vague but over the last few months I've experienced what appear to be random crashes on my PC.

My specs are in my sig and I'm happy to post up any additional information to help find the issue!

Basically my PC can work without issue for a number of hours but occasionally it will just "freeze" and either the screen will remain on there but I get no response from the mouse or keyboard or on one occasion the screen actually went grey - either way they both required a hard reset!

Any help is appreciated...

What firmware is your Crucial M4 on?

There's a known issue after crops up after 5200 hours of use on older firmware.

Where am I looking in event viewer (and what am I looking for) and while I don't think I'm close to 5200 hours use, how do I check the firmware on the SSD?

I did post another thread here that has some screenshots on if that helps??

Since this post though I've disabled printer sharing which appears to have got rid of the warnings for "Epson" - no idea if it's fixed it though!

Thanks for the replies guys...

have a look in system in the event viewer, any errors?

In situations like this, I would also remove any printers, second hard drives, cd-roms, pen drives etc to try and get to the bottom of it

To find the firmware version..

Device Manager
Disk Drives
Properties on your M4..

Details tab
'Hardware ID's'

The first field usually has it in it.

Thanks guys!

My firmware on the M4 was v.0009 as I've not updated it since I got it so I think I'll start there!

The update seems to have worked so I'll see how I get on and then move on to the other suggestions if I still get problems!

Cheers...
