Hello there, I get this really random problem with my PC sometimes, any idea what might cause it?

The issue is, sometimes, when I go to run games/ movies (sometimes just random) my PC will randomly just restart. Not like a hang or blue screen, it literally beeps at me and there I am looking at my bios screen thing. It then loads up perfectly fine. After logging in etc it gives me the old "This system has recovered from a serious error." popup. I've checked the Temps, and it doesn't seem to be overheating at all. All hardware has latest drivers etc. The computer in question is the one in my Sig, running XP Media 32bit. So anyway, I suspect my PSU failing, or something like that. I'm not really looking for a fix as i'm on my way to a new build soon, i'm just curious to see if anyone has seen this kind of problem before? D:

Thanks, Ciarz.

Hi, download mem-test and run to check if your ram is giving you problems, also download prime or Orthos to check for system stability, this may rule out any hardware problems.

Thanks, will try these and report back. Actually, it could be my ram. Im using a pretty rubbish MOBO and 32bit so I'll try removing an unneccesary 1GB stick and see if any change occurs. :)

Wouldn't do any harm to run a chkdsk /r and sfc /scannow too while ur at it. And you can use the Intel Burn Test to test CPU stability as well as FurMark to test the GPU.

If you could find out what the bluescreen error says, we may be able to narrow down the problem for you.
