Random Question - Does 8800GTX Support S3TC textures?

As title, im playing through unreal one again (is AWESOME!) and want to install the S3TC textures pack, years ago it was ment for S3 cards, but will it work today with my 8800GTX ?

Not sure about official support but it works if you run the game in opengl, might have to search for them though, worked back my old geforce 2 gts.

EDIT: Here you go,

Beta OpenGL Renderer . From Daniel Vogel at Epic Games, gives improved performance for ATI and NVIDIA-based cards, and allows you to use UT's S3TC compressed textures.

Yep, you need the opengl renderer from my edit above and you should be good to go.

Anyone know if there are any UT99 servers still knocking around? Might have to install it again if there are some.

No idea about the servers, Unreal 1 runs at around ~250fps up to 350fps in some places with my 8800GTX 1920x1200 16xAS 2xAA and 'large s3tc' textures

I loved the original Unreal, was awesome.

Graphics still look pretty decent today! (In a slightly retro way!)
