when i boot my pc i get a message

"H.D.D not detected, press F1 to continue" or something like that

when i press F1 it starts up as normal and everything works perfectly..

why the message thanks

Do you have more than one drive? If so, are master/slave jumpers set correctly?

Also check the boot order in the BIOS.

i have only one drive.

i have not changed anythng at all in the bios, all i did was change some cables around for better cable management. and since then it has happend. which makes me think fualty cable somewhere? but then why would it work if a cable was fualty.

everything is plugged in properly too.

seems abit odd to me

duh u've been faster :).

Make sure to check the jumpers and BIOS settings again. Check if your HDD is on primary master.
Oh and cable management.... you sure you didnt change your HDD from sata1? That might be the cause as well.
If your optical drive is sata 1 and hdd is sata 2, change it.

IF it's sata, instead of going in again, just pop the boot order menu in BIOS and select whatever drive it is now as the default.
It could indeed just be a panicked "default boot device aint talking to me" message, before it fails through and tries other devices.

If it's IDE, make sure it's connected to IDE0 on the mobo, some boards get all painful without a proper primary master.
