I have been having random freezes/hangs in windows 7 with no BSOD. It's completely at random it could happen within 5 mins of using the machine or 5 hours.

I've tried disabling bits of hardware i don't use. (on board sound, on board lan, on board gfx) still no joy.

It's an Overclockers Arkham Destructor Intel Core i5 2500K 3.30GHz @ 4.40GHz DDR3 Limited Edition System

I've installed windows 7 64bit ultimate (legit copy) and a Belkin firewire pci card. Apart from that it's exactly how they sent it to me.

Any help appreciated. When the system doesn't crash it is awesome!

Have you checked for anything in the application or system log?

Even though you do not get a BSOD I would still run a memtest just a quick one should suffice and eliminate RAM as an issue.

Has the machine ever crashed whilst idle?

Ran cpu bunintest which tested everything at once for 15 mins. No fails or errors.

Just been looking at the windows event logger from last night as it crashed after i went to bed about 12:30. At the time it crashed, only a few warnings about websites not being able to reach dns servers. No critical errors or anything interesting.

Also last night i ran it with stock speeds, unplugged anything usb not needed and even disconnected my firewire card. Still froze.

I'm truly stumped :/

Ideally you need to post in the ‘Bundles and System Support Forum’ in the Customer Services Forum as it may be a problem with your clock and they will be the best to advise you on what settings to change.

In the mean time you could try running the system at defaults (check you have an OcUK profile saved) and see if it eliminates the freezing? As this would help clariyfy that it might be an unstable clock.

Ran it at stock speeds last night Plec, crashed again!

I need my glasses - i missed that in your last post.

I would still contact Customer Services as your first port of call.

Have you ran the latest version of memtest yet from a bootable ISO - link?
