Range Rover (L405) - experiences?

It is funny how a Land Cruiser still commands a massive premium yet you can pick up L405's for pennies (relatively).

It shows how the general public are so fickle as the RR is obviously the far prettier SUV but capability and reliability couldn't be any further apart.

Ironically a L405 would most likely be a great car for me as I am not scared of the spanners and could fix it myself whenever it went wrong but I know I would get fed up in the end!

Yea because you'll find a lot of the old/cheaper RRs need £1000s spending on them. Any you look at will be "it needs a new gearbox", it needs a new turbo" etc.
