It's full of vast swathes of nasty black plastic, with nothing to break up the black plasticness, and cheap materials everywhere. This is not a specific Skyline criticism though as this same problem afflicts virtually every pre 2000 Japanese cars. Until recently, the Japs just didn't do interiors.

Sounds like he got a typical MG Rover product

You can get dogs from any company - my Dad ran a 2001 Rover 75 2.0V6 for 5 years and about 70,000 miles without any problems. My ZR has caused no problems after 6 months and 6,000 miles nor has my Mum's MGTF

Compared to your BMW perhaps, but compared to other more ordinary cars it's no different. I like the interior personally it wraps round you nicely and all the gauges are right where you want them. The seats are fantastic and figure hugging.

The fact is when you drive one you simply don't worry about the plastics, you're too busy having fun driving the car.

Yeah but it will be FWD and a Skoda :p :)

And your SAAB 9-5 isn't FWD and effectively the same car as the SAAB 9000/Lancia Thema/Alfa 164/Fiat Croma?

At least the Skoda is based on a modern car platform. :p

The fact that someone in this very thread has even cited the fact that there rover has had no problems after 6 months and 6,000 miles, suggests there reputation, and theres no smoke wihout fire, and they did go bust, and there cars are desighned on years old platforms and headgasket failure is common as muck says a lot, to the point where I dont think id ever by an MG rover.

Of course it is, but I bought it to take my dogs to the woods, not to race. That is still manages 0-60 in 6.9 and 150mph in standard trim is simply a bonus :p

Oh and it's *based* on the Vectra chasis and then modified by Saab. None of these heritage cars you mention, just for information purposes.

i thought 9-3's were vectra based and as said the 9-5's were an evolution of the 9000?
