Raptor 5 year Warranty?

Do i just keep the reciept from OcUK for the 5 year warranty? is that all i need, cos i just know i'll lose it!! does it start from the date on the reciept? long time is 5 years!!

Its a manufacturers warranty so you dont need to keep the receipt.. when (if) the drive dies, go to the WD website. There will be a support/returns page. You stick in the serial number from the drive and they give you an RMA number, you post off the drive and get a replacement back

They now offer an "Advanced Replacement" option where they ship you a new drive first, then you ship the old one back

I did the standard rma & took 2 weeks turnaround ...not bad considering your sending to Germany.

5yr Warrenty starts from the drive date not your receipt, going by my drives they give the shops a month to sell them.

Was your RMA status updated as WD having received the drive? My dead raptor was delivered to them last week (via DHL) and the status page still hasn't been updated.

yeah, I'm sure it updates but takes a few days, iirc I had the drive back a day or two after it said it had shipped.

ok thanks - i was starting to get slightly concerned given the drive was delivered nearly a week ago and it's still showing as not being delivered to them.

I'll give it a bit more time.

Turnaround it usually about 2 weeks in total unless you go advanced RMA.

Always make sure when you send hd's back that you pay the little extra for recorded as you then have proof that they recieved the drive.
