i wanna sell my raptor and buy an ssd, i will pay max about 350 pounds.

whats ones are reliable and fast for this price?

Depends what It's for. If its sole use will be a boot drive, 2x30Gb Vertex's in RAID 0 will be hard to beat.

Other wise, maybe just the 120Gb vertex

Vertex. Go for whatever combination sounds good, don't want more than three drives in raid 0 or the southbridge will bottleneck it. Two 60gb in raid 0 is my suggestion at that price tag, adding a third in the future if you wish

+1 for JonJs suggestion - 120gb should be plenty for the OS and apps, 60gb you may start pushing it with a lot of newer games, especially if you use steam or similar rather than DVDs.

Not too expensive either after you've gotten rid of the raptor.

Worth considering other cheaper but still good drives though (Falcon, Agility (may not be out yet but should be good but cheaper than Vertex) or Samsung. Or if you're a games whore and need lots of OS/programs space, two Corsair S128, probably RAID0 (transfer rates important for working with big files, but even the Corsair S128 with slower transfer speeds - they are sufficient to not bottleneck general OS use because IOPS matter too. RAID0 benefit remains debatable - some say it helps, others don't, up to you.)

i might go for the two 60's in RAID0, will look into it a bit more over the coming week or so though, thanks guys

just get samsung or vertex 128GB 1 SSD its far faster then 2 HDDs in raid to start off with

and if you use raid on the SSD you not be able to use Trim tool or when firmware is updated to support ATA trim, windows 7 will not be able to trim it
