I really can't decide whether to purchase a WD Raptor (150Gb version) or a larger capacity 7200.10 (SATA) as my new boot drive.

I know raptors are fast due to their high spindle speed. However, I have also heard the 7200.10's are good as they "pack" their data more closely so it can be read from the disk faster.

My set-up consists of two drives in my PC. One has OS and utilities on it, the other is purely for games.

My data is stored externally on a NAS box.

Would I notice any difference between the two HDDs?

Thanks

Yep, i know they can be beaten by a RAID set-up. However, I do not wish to go down the RAID route.

Basically then, a 7200.10 will, in real world applications not benchmarks, be the best option for me?
