Raptors + Raid 0 + S.M.A.R.T

hi

really weird problem here been getting some random high spins and a tick from my raptors in raid 0 then total system freeze, sometimes it can be fine for days even weeks then today they have just been playing up constantly, they are on rma they are the old 8mb cache ones

i have installed raid countless times but i cant get any info on them when raided, ive ran the wd diagnosis tool and i keep getting this error and fail when raided

when they are not raided they pass everything no bad sectors, s.m.a.r.t works fine, speefan picks their temps up etc

im not sure if im missing some settings in bios for s.m.a.r.t or something, very fustrating!

It's pretty rare for the usual diagnostic tools to be able to deal with a RAID array so what you're seeing, while frustrating, is not unusual.

As for the problem itself, I would have expected at least one of the drives to have shown something when checked individually.

ah ok, its finding 1 bad sector when raided, and none when seperate!?

Any chance that its the RAID controller thats playing up?
