Hi guys, i'm new here so be nice :D

I do have a few questions to ask, so please just post any information that may help in any way, it'd be very appriciated

Raptor Question: I'm using a 150GB Raptor in my system at the minute, works great. The only problem is, after having the system shut down for over 5 hours ish? when booting back up, at the RAID/ Controller screen before windows loades ( My motherboard is the Saphire Pure Innovation ) there is a problem, the raptor is listed as having 0GB and windows doesn't load. I have to keep the system on for about 5 mins then re-boot for the system to realise it is a drive and for it to become 139? GB

So it's like. ( RAID Screen )

SiI 3112 Controller name here
1 WD03000 Modle Number 0GB

SiI 3112 Controller name here
1 WD03344 Modle Number 297GB (Storage Drive)

The storage drive is recognized first time round, just the raptor needs 5 mins of system up time. It's not the raptor drive it's self as i sent it back and got a replacement thinking it was nackerd. But the new replacement drive is exactly the same... I know it aint much, but it is annoying having to wait an extra 5 mins to boot up

Any thoughts? would be great help :)
SATA Controller is set for: Both SATA0+1 and is on RAID
My WD Storage hard disk is SATA2 if that helps information wize, and i'm using a HYPER PSU

Also I might add, the drive is a tad faster than it is suposed to be, see screenshot

I'm sure the seek time is suposed to be 4.5ms? I have the NB /SB on enhanced mode.. wouldn't of thought that would have made a differance, or not this much... ?

Last question is, if i was going to build a Stripe RAID, would i have to re-install windows, or could i spread the data from the currant drive across them both?

Thanks guys! if you can solve that first question i'd be well happy! :p

Just adding a little bit more information.

I did have 1x 150GB Raptor & 1x 320GB WD Storage Drive

I now have 2x150GB Raptor's (because of the sending one back, but then realising there was nothing wrong with it) and still have the same Storage Drive

I've had both raptor's in the system at the same time, just to do a few tests. And i've found out...

System Raptor (Windows, Programs) ............-............Clean, empty raptor

Although when the clean raptor was the main system disk before i formated it, it had the same results as the current system disk, apart from the read wich was 79MB/s

Do you guys think if I upgraded my Bios it would help, or am I overreacting lol.

I just dont understand how it's only raptors that dont get fully recognized during boot, my other drive is fine. When they're up and running they're great! just that mucking around at the startup that gets me. I've tryed differant cables / ports and still get the same outcome.

Me personally, I think it's the enhanced North Bridge option, i'd had it back on default but keep getting the same outcome

Have you had a look in the bios for a setting that allows you to implement a delay at POST when the system is looking for hard discs? That has helped me with similar problems in the past.

There is no such option in my bios.

I've been reading around and a few other people have had trouble like this with their Saphire Innovation boards.

I'm just goin' to buy a new board, wish i had never baught this saphire one :(
