raptors sata2?

They are just SATA. SATA2 is a marketing term more than a new connection type. They are compatible with both types of controllers.

You dont get SATA300 Raptors although Dell claim they have then, WD say they are still SATA150 but are 160GB over our 150GB ones.

This store has them marked as SATA II (Meaning all SATA300 HDD's) which aint in all truth correct even though they do have SATA2 functions you would normally call them SATA300 or SATA 3.0 Gbit/s

So in this store you need look under SATA II for a SATA300 HDD.

I could get you offical links but Wiki is easier to understand.

" The 3.0 Gbit/s specification has been very widely referred to as “Serial ATA II” (“SATA II” or “SATA2“), contrary to the wishes of the The Serial ATA International Organization(SATA-IO) which defines the standard. "

I gave the URL, SATA2 is nothing to do with SATA300.

My HDD is SATA150 but also SATA2 (NCQ etc).

Since the URL above was laymans terms, here is the offical source.

" Dispelling the Confusion: SATA II does not mean 3Gb/s "

" The term SATA II has grown in popularity as the moniker for the SATA 3Gb/s data transfer rate, causing great confusion with customers because, quite simply, it’s a misnomer.

The first step toward a better understanding of SATA is to know that SATA II is not the brand name for SATA’s 3Gb/s data transfer rate, but the name of the organization formed to author the SATA specifications. The group has since changed names, to the Serial ATA International Organization, or SATA-IO.

The 3Gb/s capability is just one of many defined by the former SATA II committee, but because it is among the most prominent features, 3Gb/s has become synonymous with SATA II. Hence, the source of the confusion.

For an accurate description of Serial ATA capabilities and the official guideline to SATA product naming, please see the details below. "
