is it worth gettng x2 raptors since i use my system mostly for gaming and some photoshoping as my m8s willin to swap his 2 raptors for a 500gb hdd

Which model Raptors and which model 500 GiB disk?

Generally speaking it'd be faster but I'm not sure it'd be worth the hassle if you're looking to RAID a pair of 36 GiB Raptors, for instance.

It's not worth the hassle or noise.

It was nice at first (2x74gb 16mb cache) but I'll make better use of the money I get from selling them.

Although if you're swapping in a way that would leave you with the more valuable items then do it. ;)

well ive always facyed raptor setup its x2 76gb 1's for a problay a samsung 500gb off ocuk am basicly payed for the 500gb and gettin the raptors in return.

Seems like a good deal:
Samsung SpinPoint T HD501LJ 500GB SATA-II 16MB Cache - OEM £61.99 (£72.84)
Western Digital Raptor 74GB WD740ADFD 10,000RPM SATA 16MB Cache - OEM £86.99 (£102.21) Times two £173.98 (£204.42)

I'd be uneasy about screwing a friend over like that though. he should know that he could sell them second hand and perhaps get 2 500 GiB drives with the proceeds. If he accepts this and wants to go through with it anyway, go for it.

hey it was his idea hes a member of the site plus he got his raptors off ebay cheap so techanly hes not getting screwed over by me

so you think i should go for it
