Are these still the fastest drives, or can some of the lower RPM drives do better?

I get a Vista score of 5.7 with it, but I've heard of people getting 5.9 scores with plain old 500gb drives...

Some 7200rpm can near/match them apart from SEEK speeds, and if you actually run them you see/feel the speed that cant be told here.

They are also getting on in age and I would wait on refresh if I was you as I hope there will be.

Hopefully the wait wont be to long

some n00b posted on another forum about a new Raptor without Molex and linked to picture of a WD HDD non Raptor.

Anyhow I really doubt it be same as now but with SATA300 as he claims, I think it will deff have a 32MB cache and hope for more RPM and be faster due to Perpendicular layout as thats WD 7200rpm HDD are rally faster now as it can read more data with less movement.

The new WD 750GB uses this and its 1 of if not the fastest 7200rpm on the market but still 16MB.
