Rar files?

Does anybody here know of a good FREE program that lets you open .Rar files. I'm running vista 64 btw. All I can find is trials

There are 5 (or more) free (un)zipping programs in the Useful Freeware Utilities thread, IZArc is good.

I used winrar for years and switched to 7zip, fantastic app and opens anything.

A bonus is that although zip/rar files are not allowed to be sent via gmail, .7z files go through fine

Indeed. It's free of charge and it's also free as in freedom. Yay for OSS.

Izarc as is don't seem to be able to create context menus in Vista. 7Zip works great, although its handling of rar files is not perfect (multiple rars for example, if any of them is missing, 7 zip will unrar as much as it can and then just exit without any warning, or if you start unrar from .r01 file instead of .rar, it will just unrar single file, no warning, no popup, no logic...)
