Hi overclockers!
My knowledge about PCS is not very big hence why my requests to take a look.
I am able to maintain a PC, change, clean parts etc but on my own I wouldn't be able to put parts together from scratch to a whole PC.

I've come up with a build, link below:

https://www.overclockers.co.uk/ocuk...D3WvZcaGm3WXzcaJa3X(/caJm3X!,caJC3X.xcbIh3Z85

I'll be using it strictly for gaming, mostly Starcraft 2 and some simple office like stuff.
I wonder what you guys think, my initial thought is that this might be an overkill? Would all parts fit and work together?
Thanks for help.

You don't need expensive hardware for those old games, if they're all you're playing.

And even if having money to throw around there's not a single reason to go for Intel, whose most current CPUs are waste of sand compared to Ryzens.

And so is also that configuration objectively waste of money with not a single good thing I can think of.

Thanks for that! You've almost convinced me. I've been using i Intel whole my life and I'd never even consider anything else.
Maybe I will.
What about other parts?

Yes it takes you directly to specific components I've chosen
Ahh, alright, in that case:

case: that's a really expensive one, £200-£250. Cases are personal choice, to a degree, but you don't need to spend that.
CPU: as with the case, you don't need to spend £500+ on a 11900K. I'd suggest an 11600 or 5600X will be enough, or if you want to spend a little more to have 8 cores: 10700/11700 or 5800X. If you are going to spend £500, I'd get a 5900X instead because it's better value and easier to cool.
GPU: it's hard to make any comment on this because the availability and price of graphics cards in pre-builds is not the same as DIY. That said, I'd suggest a minimum of a 3060 Ti for 1440p, even if you mainly play older games.
Storage: 500GB m.2 and 8TB HDD - I would change this. 500GB M.2 for the operating system is fine, but you don't really want to be putting all your games on a 5400rpm HDD nowadays. Maybe go something like 4TB HDD (which is -£100) and spend the savings on a 1TB second M.2 drive.
Cooling: if you buy something like a 5600X, then you could spend way less on an air cooler, rather than £200+.

What's the preferred budget, intended usage life etc?

It's easy to find expensive parts, but if you're not going to use them for really long time, that's bad "ROI".

While I myself paid fair €200 for case, that was in 2008 and new cases just have continuously more downsides in comparison.
But if you're not going to keep changing insides yourself, you won't get that amount of benefit for the money spent.
Quality PSU also last long, like hinted by warranty lengths.
But again if you're not going to use it for that time, no sense to pay luxury/premium prices.

And some parts just have badly diminishing value/performance for the price and won't last long good no matter what.
If they even give any real improvement to experience in the first place:
For old/low requirements games expensive CPU and GPU might not give anything.
While for example bigger, higher resolution monitor gives extra immersion in about any game.
Though we're still waiting for 32" 144Hz 4K monitors...

If you do want to go intel then wait for 12th Gen later this year or get AMD if buying now. 5600x is a nice CPU price/power ratio

Wow that's a lot of money.

Alternate build there that saves almost 1k, I left the same monitor in to keep it Apples to Apples comparison.

You can change case and cpu cooler to anything you like the look of. You can also change the GPU to anything within your budget but the games you list do not require massive performance and the 3060ti is currently the best bang for buck gpu. You could easily go with a lower power PC and save at least another 1k. The configurator is limited in choices so cannot always choose the best options.

The above pc is great and would last you years with a gpu upgrade in the future. If you want a cheaper build making up then just say so because you can save a lot more money.

EDIT- If you click the link the options chosen change so you would need to change them back to the ones listed.

Think the 6700xt will prob outperform the 3060ti, and the g5 monitor is £280, so will save you £1k.

The below will knock the socks off anything above if you want to spend the cash. I added the uni sl fans as you can daisy chain them so install becomes easier. So below can become cheaper by changing fans/case/aio/gpu but just an example if you go build rather than pre build(for some of prices above). You could also add more storage also. If you can change/clean parts then you're more than capable of building a pc. There's also a youtuber who's building for free if it comes to that(as long as he can post the build) to increase his content, but from what you've said above, I believe you can do it yourself.
