Rate my cooling setup!

Hi guys,

Would you mind taking a look at my current fan/cooling setup to check that I have got it right. I am currently in Madrid with insane ambient temperatures (it's 38-40 degrees outside), so getting the cooling right is a bit of a mission of mine.

My CPU (i7 4790) and GPU (R9 390) are both watercooled using an EKWB 360mm Radiator setup, so the temps there should be ok. Although my CPU is getting into the 70's when gaming (WoW), and the GPU sits around the mid-60's.

Here is my current setup:

- 3x EKWB Vardar fans for the radiator on top
- 2x Fractal fans at the front of the case
- 1x Noctua NF-S12A fan at the back
- 1x Noctua NF-S12A fan on the door

Any advice is much appreciated.

Nothing wrong with it.

I would wonder if the door fan is doing anything since the real heat is being sent to the radiator.

I might fiddle and see if having it push air in makes any difference but I wouldn't expect a huge change even if it did.
 
Psu fan sucks air in and dumps it out the back of the case not the other way around. I would probably have the side panel fan as a intake. You still need some airflow across the board and your bottom fan is pretty much blocked by the hdds so there won't be much airflow from that.
 
Ahh, good point about the PSU ... I did know that!

I might try reversing the side-panel fan and see if that helps then. Worth a shot :).

looks to me like rear exhaust fan will be stealing 'cold air' from rad fan 1
leave door fan as exhaust try and make rear fan an inlet.
Should be more balanced
before 2in 5ex (not enough in)
after 3in 4ex
door fan taking away hdd heat, rear inlet directly feeding rad
 
Good call .. that certainly has some logic!
I'll have a play around and see if anything makes a difference!

It's 32 degrees outside right now, at 1.30am! Idle temps are:

VRM = 48c
GPU = 45c
CPU = 47c

No problems there at all, but for some reason, World of Warcraft drives the CPU into the 70's, and GPU into the mid-60's. BF4, for example, runs about 10c cooler at Ultra settings!

Can't tell if WoW just pushes everything to the max, or if there is some glitch in the temperature readings!

WOW sounds cpu intensive that will automatically increase gpu temp (coolant from cpu is hotter so heats up gpu), for a gpu intensive game gpu temp wont affect cpu temp, I'm assuming gpu is after cpu in the loop flow wise.
 
Yep, that makes sense too. CPU is first in the loop, followed by GPU.
I didn't realise that WoW was so CPU intensive, I'll read up on that!
