Rate my current setup. First foray!

So i took my first jump into home cinema basics this last xmas period and bought a lot of new kit, its finally ready to go together.

I have

panasonic 46" GT30 tv [3d]
boston acoustics soundware xs 5.1 package speaker set
yamaha v371 av receiver [3d]
HTPC [soon to be running a 6850/70 GFX card, [3d]]

I guess the sound is the weak link, i am satisfied with the sub, but sometimes feel the satellite speakers are slightly weak.
Haven't a clue how good a good av receiver sounds as ive never heard one!

Decent set up there, don't worry about weakest link as we all have to start somewhere and can always upgrade.
What do you need from a HTPC? If just streaming then apple tv 2 or DLNA off a nas to your tv will work just fine.

ill get some pics once its all ready, atm im using my u2711 as a tv as the room the TV is in isnt setup with the 5.1

its a HTPC and i want to play some controller friendly games like f1/avp etc on the big screen, hence the gpu.
I also have 3d blu ray rips on the HTPC so thats the 3d side of GPU/receiver/TV

I wanted a 6xxx gpu as i have been testing [and testing and testing] getting the 3d side of things working! i finally managed to get avatar 3d playing in 3d on the TV from my main PC with a 6950 using cyberlink! it took a lot of fiddling with amd drivers, settigns in cyber link, then getting the sound through the hdmi and also being able to switch to stereo sound [via standard headphone jack to a separate stereo all in one setup]

lots of effort.

One thing, i am going to use my hp touchpad as a remote control with desktop display and/or my logitech mx air, which works very well. Ive got a wireless led keyboard, wireless mouse and xbox controller and steering wheel all going to be hooked up to the pc
