What ya think? have gone very subtle, have just always thought that my car sits too high, so now am happy :)

(Thanks to Noopz for buying my lowering springs, thanks to Chenko for hosting pics)

no significant changes there, I had to take a second, third, AND fourth look to tell the difference.

I didn't want the car to look "lowered", just wanted subtle to make it look better.

Looking well. The 'de-tango' really does make a big difference. Those brakes are tiny though :p

Thumbs down I'm afraid, doesn't really make much difference save for the de-tango stuff, picking alloys from a lower spec model is certainly an odd move, some ST170 multispokes or some aftermarket wheels would have gone better.

Now it just looks like a Focus Zetec, the specific model of which there are more on the road than any other...

Don't agree - Well the normal Zetec's have 15", and you notice the difference when its next to another Zetec. I don't want to spend £400 on ST170 alloys, or nice aftermarkets, plus if i did that i'd have to get bigger brakes or they'd look REALLY odd, and the lowering makes a real difference when i see it in "person", and also makes it stiffer in the corners ;)

I think the new wheels are a big improvement over the old ones. The older ones are vile. Admittedly a nice set of aftermarkets or even ST170's would look even better but you can't say that the new wheels aren't an improvement.

Looks nice and clean, its amazing what a de-tango can do :).

Wheels wise, good choice aswell, big wheels may look nice to some but for driveability small wheels are much better. ST170 wheels are useless on anything but an ST tbh and in your case they would make your brakes look rather small and out of proportion. Plus there a right pain to clean ;).

How much did it cost to lower it?

I'm considering doing it to mine and sticking some ST alloys (or lookalikes) on, but I don't want to ruin the ride.

How does the car handle now?

Friend bought be the good Eibach 35mm springs, which were £130 all in all I think. I got my local garage to do me a favour and he fitted them for £40 instead of £140! Took him a while also as the lower arm was seized!

Ride is nice and stiff now in the corners.

de tango is definite improvement.

although the wheels are from a lower spec then look nicer IMO.the originals have too many spokes for the size, would work much better as say 17's.

cant really notice the lowering, but eibach springs should make an improvement in handling, looks are a bonus. :)

Looks a lot better :)

Has the handling been noticeably affected by swapping out the springs? I've always wanted to know if it's worth changing the shocks etc at same time or if just changing springs is enough. Ta
