In acme's chair.
Got my i5 2500K overclocked to 4.7GHz (47 x 100) with 1.36v

The idle temps are 26°C - 33°C (sitting on the desktop, just background apps open)

The load temps are 60°C - 65°C (Prime 95 Blend) and 65°C - 70°C (Prime 95 Small FFT)

To me this seems pretty good especially seen as my cooler is pretty crappy

(Antec Kuhler H2O 620 in push pull with one 120mm Lian Li fan and one 120mm cheapy Antec fan)

My basic clock of 4.0ghz on my 2500k with standard voltage hits 68 in Intel Burn Test so I think your clock is mighty fine :)

Prime is on blend ``torture test`` on 4 threads, it's running right now

temps at 4.4 OC are :- 50....54....54.....49

so slightly better than last time, but the card isn't under stress right now so it's hard to tell, my readings above from last time are about average.

i havent adjusted any voltage settings etc, it's all stock via the standard 4.4 OC, but as said the CPU/ COOLER and PC Cooling is heavily modified.

you dont need Phanteks at all, just use the cooler in my sig and get it lapped and tightened right down, plus really good cooling and you'll be ok, you also dont need the best thermal compound, because i've used the lot and i've noticed no difference.

Rubbish about the cooler and compund, Stulid did a very thorough thermal paste review of every paste ocuk sells and the results are there for all to see. It does make a difference. As for coolers, Xigmatak aegir isnt anything special, phanteks is arguably the best fan on the market along with the Silver arrow SB-E and the noctua, telling some to not get the best fan on the market is stupid, also, recommending lapping cpus and heatsinks on your cpu fan is just ridiculous, you dont need to lap andything nowadays. Also, lapping a cpu incorrectly can have terrible effects on temps and performance, just dont do it.

Until you actually test your CPU system with a Phanteks you are just blowing smoke.

Yes maybe

but my setup works perfectly, sorry but the figures dont lie do they, as for the cooler, i used to have Megahalems and Xigmatek Aegir is cooler.

yes, only lap if you know what you're doing or you're mechanically minded, my CPU/ COOLER have been lapped twice, i did it again before refitting the cooler.... but as said, dont do it if you're not careful/ confident

as for the cooler paste, as said before i've noticed no difference and i've used the lot.

what voltage are you using for 4.4ghz?
