Not to sure if this has been done before but I have recently purchased a 3D monitor and would like to know what OverClockers users think is the best games to play?

Currently my top 5 are:

1) Trine 2
2) Dirt 3
3) Skyrim
4) Tomb Raider Underworld
5) FSX

Havnt played anything in 3d since I first got my projector over a year ago but at the time tomb raider underworld looked the best imo test drive unlimited was quite good and portal worked well those are the only ones I could sit and play in 3d without turning it off after 5 minutes

People always mention Dirt3 as a good 3D title, yet I always get extreme ghosting on the vehicles with this game.

What monitor / 3D drivers (3D Vision, Tridef, etc) are you using gregster?

I am using the Asus VG278H with the Nvidia 3D vision 2 on 290.53 drivers. Also I am running a GTX560TI and I have not seen any ghosting at all. BF3 is the only game I have seen performance hit but if I lowered the specs from high then I am sure this would sort it.
Personally it is a poor game in 3D IMO though and 2D is better for it.

In Dirt2 the best 3D was obtained by using the DX9 driver and tweaking a couple of other settings (there's threads around here somewhere for it), the DX10 driver caused bad visuals and ghosting. May be similar things that will work for Dirt3 too.

Playing loads with it now don't think I could go back to playing them in 2D adds so much more depth to the game, playing atm below I also tried Dirt 3 and got ghosting but never checked it in dx9.

Batman games both look great
Crysis 2 looks great also
Burnout Paradise which for me has the best depth I seen in a game.
Metro 2033 again looks mint
The Witcher 2 mint
F1 2011 again mint

Before I got my 3d setup gaming had taken a back seat and I was basically pretty bored of it but this has made me appreciate it again being able to see the 3D depth in games.

I think this thread is a little confusing.

I game on 6950 graphics card and all the 3D titles i play Deus Ex being an example have the stereoscopic player option in the menu...some of the titles listed above dont have 3D support native and only available through NVIDIA.

Is this correct? I know i can use TriDef but the stuff ive tried they all are fan converstions and can be very dodgy!

Sorry Shane, I have no idea on that. I reckon somebody here has cross gpu'd though and would tell you.
I am new to this 3D experience but just wanted to see what others thought was good to help me choose future games.

Nvidia's 3D Vision is built into the drivers so almost every game you can buy can be played in 3D.
I say almost because there are the odd exceptions that have compatibility problems, 98% of games do work very well though, even dating back to half Life, Soldier of Fortune and Legacy Of Kain etc.
Hell, I even re-installed old classics like No One Lives Forever to give them a go in 3D :)

1. Just Cause 2, this simple looks amazing in 3d!
2. Metro 2033
3. Battlefield 3 Single player
4. Skyrim looks pretty good, but not a massive amount better than 2d
5. Microsoft FSX, if you play flight sims the depth of field makes it feel so much more real, pity about the sub-par graphics

You do need a pretty decent card though, I am currently on a I5 2500k @ 4ghz and a 560 TI OC and it does the job pretty decent but I feel a 580 is the place to be really.

Just dont get why Ati doesnt support 3D. Not a fan boy and would always buy what i consider best bang for buck.

Many people using ATI for 3D or is it NVIDIA all the way now?

This is exactly the same setup as me other than the fact im using a 570. I just get extreme ghosting on the vehicles with this game, so bad its compeltely unplayable. On a rally race for example where there are no other vehicles it looks awesome, but thrown another car in front of me and i have to turn it off.

Theres a few mentions of DX9 giving better results in this thread. Anyone know how to make Dirt3 use DX9? Don';t remember seeing it in the menus.

If you have the same set-up as me all bar the 570 it seems strange you are seeing ghosting and I am not? I don't know what the difference is but I am playing Dirt 3 with DX11 on max settings. I have altered nothing in the 3D or monitor department.

Halflife, the original.

Old, but hey crawling through the black messa with the 3d/3d sounds... for real!!!

Wipeout HD/Fury

It's the only game I've bothered charging my glasses up for! tbh 3D doesn't bother me.
