Raw File Editing in PS CS

I cant find a plug in for PS CS ? is there one or am I missing something

I have the std Canon software but it wont resize my pics for web

The raw plugin is called camera raw, you can get it from here http://www.adobe.com/products/photoshop/cameraraw.html only CS4 can use the latest version, you might need to use one of the older versions of the plugin.

Which camera are you using?

If your camera is very new you might have to get a newer version of photoshop, since they dont add the updates for newer cameras to the older versions.

Or use the Adobe DNG converter to convert it to a DNG raw file which can be opened by any version of the ACR.

I've got a 400D and CS3.. would the Camera Raw 4.6 update be what I'm looking for??

I do have Lightroom 1.4 as well.. but I'm a complete n00b and I've never used it!!

Sounds about right. I think version 5.2 onwards you need CS4. But CS3 and ACR 4.6 will open a 400D RAW file.

grab the canon raw codec from canon's site as well, it allows you to see thumbnails of the raw files in explorer

I'm a total n00b, so when my 400D arrives I'm gonna be taking some seriously crap shots and asking some seriously n00b questions...

Atleast I've got the correct software.. just need the Postie to deliver the goods now!!.

Huh? It is a seperate program to convert the raw files to dng format that can be read by any version of the ACR. You will still need a version of the ACR installed though.

no I have the first photoshop CS and it wont let me put ACR 4.6 with it for some reason

You need version 2.4 for CS1. Above that you need CS2 or above.
