Hi there,

I have a problem with my friend All in one system, he had a power cut and after restart he cannot boot up Windows 8, got message EFI/Micorosoft/boot problem. When i checked diskpart on command window, I have noticed that the windows partition C is in RAW format. Does anyone know how to change that to working partition?

i ran chkdisk and that rebuilt the MBR (to an extent) and that allowed me to access the drive. I got around 80% data back. The rest were replaceable or non-critical data

you will most likely to loose all of your folder structures. the data will be found in the root directory of the drive under hidden directory (you need to enable hidden directory in windows explorer) FOUND.000 or FOUND.001 etc

Use Macrium Reflect to create a 1:1 backup before running chkdsk, if you do go down that route.

Well i finished running chkdsk it took 5 days to run!! In the end lots of files were unreadable. I think the partition is a bust.

If you have critical data - GetDataBack is your friend.

I had a 4TB disk completely unreadable - same symptoms, and recovered everything.
