Which lens would you buy if you wanted your eyes to be non visible? With the polarized lens you can see the eyes through the lens.

Rather than start a new thread, I thought I'd naughtily hijack this one (sorry Thermaltake, won't be long)

Is there a proper name for the type of glasses that Lennon/Ozzy wear, y'know the rounded ones?

I can't use normal dark sunglasses (won't bore you with the reasons) and the only pair that helped me was of this type and in a green glass(and they were only about £30 at that!)

Any ideas if a highstreet sells them or indeed the proper name for them?

Haha. Is this so you can wear them on the beach whilst with your missus?
you want to spy on women without them noticing you're looking at them? :p

:p...your not wrong!

Not necessarily. I have mirrored polarized and you can't really see my eyes. Either way look for 'mirror' lenses.

Dont want the mirror ones really. Would like black.

No worries mate.

If you want black lenses that you can't see through on one side, but without a 'two way mirror' sort of effect, may I suggest you place a piece of black cardboard in front of you.

Jokes aside, any black lenses will do from a distance.

Black ones like Cab Calloway wears in Blues Brothers. Hey folks, here's the story about Minnie the Moocher, she was a low down hooooochie cooher.

If you want lenses for a Ray Ban that cant be seen in, you have no choice but to have them mirrored.

The second thing is it depends on what type of model you are after, only about half the range come with polarised lenses, and about half of those only come mirrored.

Polarised lenses arent mirrored in anyway. From a distance they may effectively be good enough to not be able to see through, but all polarised lenses do is stop certain glare coming into your eyes from certain surfaces at certain angles (the glare when sun hits water for example, or the sun coming off the snow). So polarised may be good enough depending on what you want to use them for.

If you let me know what you plan on using them for, and what sort of model you want...Im assuming aviators? Then I can probably let you know what sort of tint the polarised lenses have on them, and could tell you if they are going to be good enough for what you want them for.

I've got Ray Bans that are black.. and they aren't mirrored. Can't see my eyes for shiz and means I can stare happily at girls boobs without them knowing.

Cool, well i'm only using them for the beach, sunny days etc. But if i'm spending £80 i want them to be what i want. I've seen the Polarized ones and you can see the eyes easily. Theres other models which i've seen on people and you can hardly see the eyes.

Actually, here is an example:

These are the 3025 original aviators. G15 lens with gunmetal frame.

You seem to know your Ray Bans, would this be the best choice? Also am i right in thinking the G15 lens only comes in the one tinted colour. Polarized you can get loads of different ones.

thats what ive ordered, but with silver frame, and mirrored lenses :p i thought they looked wicked

The 3025 'is' the aviator, and if its an aviator you want, definitely go for the 3025. Ray ban do a couple of different models, but not as good as the classic.

The 3025 only comes in three different polarised lens colours: Crystal Green (which is the G15), Crystal Brown, and a Pink Gradient. None of these are that reflective from the outside in, youll easily see your eyes behind them unless youre about 10 foot away, especially if the sun is hitting them, youll see right through them.

The second problem youve got, is that if it is the gunmetal frame you want, there isnt actually a gunmetal 3025 with mirrored lenses either. If you definitely want something that your eyes cant be seen behind, then you want to go for mirrored. You can get the 3025 in a silver (its pretty dark, basically gunmetal) with a pretty good dark grey mirrored lens (doesnt look shiney when looking into them which is a great bonus) it just looks dark enough not to see them. Or, there is a black frame, with an awesome grey/green (almost G15) mirrored lens, again not polarised, but looks like the G15, and you wont see your eyes behind.

If you definitely want the polarised lens over a mirrored lens, then the 3025 probably isnt going to be able to do the job for you im afraid, but there are a few I could probably recommend (They wont be similar to an aviator unforutnately though)
