Evening all,

I recently got the blackwidow keyboad but having trouble with the software. When I load it up it shows the keyboard in french (azerty layout) which is really annoying. Cant see anywhere to change it. My language settings for win7 are set to english (UK). Its on the latest firmware and have tried uninstalling and installing the software a few times.

Razers support site in one word is.....****. lol

Anyone shed some light?

Oh and also, on this keyboard the "@" label is on the "#" (next to enter) . Is that usual? On all other keyboards I have had its on the " ' " key?

Cheers

Wtf :(

I got it from e- buyer, it never said it was a non-uk one. The keys on the actual board are qwerty....

Is there a way to solve the french language in the software? Its not french on the keyboard....

If you google that model number and check out the competitor sites and other places, it looks to me like a US layout. Could be wrong though, need someone else to confirm. I can't link the sites on here though.

There are some software's that will allow you to remap your keyboard if you don't want to send it back, Microsoft have one you can download here.

Guys I am even more confused. I e-mailed them and they said they would e-mail their supplier. They just got back to me and they say it is a UK model.

I have the £ and $ sign in the correct place (above 3 and 4) but the @ is next to the enter....

Anyone post a pic of their blackwidow?

Cheers

i think you may have been sold a pup. i've looked at quite a view websites selling that model number of the keyboard and they have all show the $ sign under the number 4 and the # sign under the number 3. none show the @ sign right beside the enter key. it's under the number 2 key

Hmmm, but if the # sign is on the number "3" then that is a US keyboard isnt it? The "£" is above the "3" on uk keyboards?

uhmm,
Look in the taskbar, to the right of your running programs, you should see 'FR'. Click on that and you should be able to select English. If English is not available, right-click and select Settings, than click 'Add...' and add English. but, as your saying ur run win 7 with format being enlgish, as many have said here it could have been a dud.
try contacting the people you bought it off, if it's still in warrenty.
hope this helps mate.

I will post a pic tonight when I get in.

CrixxzeH, Nope. Its not set to FR. My Location and Language and Keyboard Language etc are set to English (United Kingdom). It types correctly in windows, as it should (qwerty). But the Razer software shows it as a french layout, there is no where to change the option.
And also the @ sign is next to the enter key when on all my other keyboards it is one away from it. I still have to press the key without the @ sign to get the @ sign....

I contacted the online store, they contacted supplier and have confirmed its english version.

So hoping someone on here has a Uk model to compare??

Maybe the keys are a bit mixed up?

That would make sense if the @ and ' key were next to the enter and the # and ~ key were to the left of that but its not. The # key has the @ sign above it. Its not as tho the two keys were swapped, its as if the @ sign has been printed above the # by mistake.... ?

So makes me think its a foreign keyboard...as well as the razer software picking it up wrong..

Heres the pictures of the keyboard guys
