You've tried them (well kinda) in the flesh? Cool. I've only seen a couple of photos. Been out of production for a long time as far as I know.
Ye, I went to the UK head-fi meet in November 07 and it was great, especially hearing some nice stax, and the AKG K1000.
Someone had that senn surround thing, it was heavy, made of cheap plastics, but felt awesome none the less

Hope you're playing something through them to aid with a bit of burn-in while you can't use them.

Can i just say a huge thank-you - Ive just got home to "test" my headphones - OMG what an improvment over the Barracudas...Ive been converted. A Special thanks for -Ad- for your assistance....
Also - kazakore, quick thanks to you also for the Audio clip....I sat with my mouth open, in amazment until the dude whispers in your ear then i had to pop off to the WC....Very intense.
Again, thanks for all that have contributed. I have been converted, if these sound any better when they have been burnt in i will be amazed even futher...

Glad you have been converted. If you want to burn them in a little quicker, simply run them off something at moderate volume when you're not using them/in the room 
Should open them up a little quicker than just while you're using them.
That audio clip is very similar to the effect Dolby Headphone and CMSS TRY to simulate in realtime while you're listening to surround sound sources on your headphones (to varying degrees of success). As you can see, with the right effects, even with 2 speakers one Left, one Right, the effect can be VERY convincing.

No worries Vinny, another happy customer who has hadhis ears literally prised open and fed great sound. And they will sound better over time as they bed in.

Im almost certain it will be a post along the lines of "Why is my husband playing music through his new headphones ALL NIGHT, even when hes not at his desk or using his PC !?"
On a serious note - 3 days in, around 30-40 hours of sound (Mainly music) you can tell the sound is getting better and better ! Am still chuffed, they offer a much more convincing "Surround Sound" effect than the Barracudas - Playing Call Of Duty and such really adds a new dimension, or a more effective dimension than ever before.
As they "open" up i will post results here for all to see !!

Glad you enjoyed it. Just managed to find The matchbox Shaker, which I always thought the best example of holophonic/binaural recordings, with a quick search today. Stick your headphones on, close your eyes and give this one a listen.

Although the barber shop definitely does come close and I could see why some people might prefer it.
Hi Kaz - I found the Machbox shaker on the same website as the barber shop...
as you say - An excellent way of presenting how good these headphones can work without the "Surround Sound" tag. However, i did enjoy the barber shop more - not that i wasnt impressed with the machbox shaker, its also quite insane, sounds a little too close for comfort !!

The Stax and the Surrounder were mine. It's made of expanded polystyrene.

I had set of hp-1 razer headphone and was loving them untill one day ,I was like i want some thing better so i got the senns 650 and wooooow amazing way better then any razer headset .
The sound from senns is 1000 time more better thats for sure ,
