Razorlight - Razorlight

So to single out particular publications for ‘doctoring’ reviews is just absurd, cos they’re all at it, aye even those with knowledge, taste and interest in music like those good folks at pitchfork :p

It's free to look on the internet though. I just find it absurd that anyone would pay money for an NME magazine, which consists of approximately 56 pages of Pete Doherty pictures and news and some terrible reviews written by people who seem to know nothing about anything. All that I ask from a music review is a reasonably informed article from someone who clearly enjoys listening to music; something that numerous websites seem to be able to provide.

Its about 20 years since I’ve bought NME, so I wouldn’t know if there really are ‘56’ pages on Pete Dochery, though I suspect there’s not even that many pages in the whole magazine.

On Q magazine, again not bought it in years, though I do remember they used to have some tremendous writers, guys from the Old grey whistle Test like David Hepworth and Andy Kershaw. So has Q’s writers really went downhill since I last read it?, or is it just ‘hip’ to dislike Q as much as NME, cos all the cool folks on t’internet and down the pub say so.

Lastly, websites shouldn’t automatically be assumed credibility in their reviews, I suspect they got the majority of cds for free at the very least. It’s a business to them just as it is to publications off the shelf.

Its incredibly dull/samey such a pity was looking forward to it after a few reviews stated 'a classic album'.

It makes really good late night music, it's so easy to listen to.

I think Razorlight need to produce a few more songs like Dalston, it suited them in my opinion.

The album musically isn't bad, but what's happened to his Lyric writing ability? It's all so simple and meaningless.

Cant believe all the slagging really. I really did enjoy the album. granted the lyrics are down right appaling in some places but musically its a great listen.

Each to there own I guess.

Only heard odds and sods of it so far. America sounded good to me.

My friends reckon that there aren't enough "get up there and thrash 'em out tunes", (which was pretty much what all of Up All Night Was). I'll reserve judgement until I get my mitts on a copy.

The first album I've bought this year on hearing only one track (In the Morning) and it's left me somewhat disappointed. That first track is stand out and the rest are fairly mediocre.

Not a patch on their last one.

Loving it now, my top album of the year so far. Having got The Killers latest album as well, this one seems to the superior, Sam's Town just doesn't really do anything for me at all.
