Bit of a long shot but ive been flying RC heli's for a little while now but still getting through rotor blades like there going out of fashion so decided to buy the lead to connect my handset to my pc for the training sim.
Tried connecting the lead but can't get it working:(like i say long shot but has anyone else tried this that could give me some tips?

Handset is E-flite LP5DSM 2.4ghz (using the blade cx2 as i still have a long way to go).
program is clearview, only demo version as i want to make sure its what i want before purchasing,I'd like to get it sorted as i would like to get some sim time before going tothe next stage :)

I do not know this clearview SIM you refer to I have Realflight G3 and Aerofly, and my Futaba FF9 connects up to that via the original G3 interlink controller. (Tx)

I have been flying RC helis and planes now on 7 years I think. All good fun, But why are you going through so many blades ? put a "X" training set up on the bottom of your heli perhaps. Just take it easy dude. Smell hops. dont go above 2 - 3 feet, get a feel for the Heli.

I wish I was half as good as alan szabo, but......

I ordered a cheap RC helicopter the other day (which should be here today! :D) with the sole intention of using it to chase my dad around the house with.

RC Helicopters are fun.

I connected that controller to a laptop with a normal 2.5mm audio connector. Or are you using the phoenix sim, I believe that comes with a special box (it has a dongle in it)?

Also, do you have the training kit? It saves blades :)

clear view flight sim http://rcflightsim.com/

i have thought about getting the training gear, its only £7 so gotta be worth it:)
Thought i buggered my handset up,connected it to the comp via usb and after a while i could smell something was off, took the back off and the batteries were scorching:eek:
took the batteries out and cooled the handset down and all was good, could'nt find anything to say you should'nt connect with batteries.
Ill try another program see if i have any joy with that, pretty eager to ge it working tbh.

i got the protech air division usb interface kit, comes with adapter's for all different handsets, not sure if my handsets supposed to power up when the lead's plugged in?and i'm definatly going to invest in the training kit tomorrow.

Are you using XP? If so I'd try giving this a shot just to make sure.

Simplly, you get the SmartPropoPlus software and connect a standard audio cable from your handset to your PC's microphone socket. When you move things on your controller the software should graphically show you.

You are turning the handset on manually too aren't you?

Pho....Noticed you are in Derbyshire, I am in Chesterfield, Do you fly ? and if so where abouts?

Just purchased the GL450 3D copter which comes with the WFLY FT06-C,i have now got realflight and am really eager to get some sim time in but have 2 questions which i hope one of you could answer for me:)
there's a pc simulator jack on the handset but all the instruction's say is to pull out the TX when using the sim, whats the TX?
also you say simply use an audio to audio lead, should it be mono or stereo?
Thanks for any help chaps;)

Only recently. I bought the helicopter for my Dad for his birthday so I get to have a play on it every so often.

I'm (near to) Belper so that's about 25 miles from you :).

I'm not sure off hand but that may be right, the handsets have to use audio to transmit the signals. Have a go at following this.
