RC Helicopters

lol they think idle up is the rotors stalled...
and a cut in his skull is a piece of his head missing....
not to mention they mention decapitation when it was likely just the skin cut on his kneck....

seems like he used to take ridiculous risks though and had the heli far to close when doing stunts

Yeah I had to check other sources to validate any of their claims lol. Did seem like he took stupid risks though, lucky nobody else was hurt during his pilot time.

even if you are 100% sure you will never make a mistake you can not be 100% certain the wind will not change.

total idiot who gains no sympathy from me.

he took the risk having that thing fly inches from his head when doing the cone stunt (whatever it's called)

it's no big surpise one time it went wrong and he got ****** up by it.

even the blades on a 250 heli earn my fear

We got a little tiny one for our son. Didn't think that it would be any good but it's excellent (indoors). Quite a learning curve to fly (especially for him) but it's robust and don't regret the purchase at all

Just discovered this thread after browsing the multi-rotor one.

I have at the moment a v911 4 channel chopper, and an E-Razor 450 6 channel one. Love the 911 but I want a bigger one :). So i'm just waiting on a v912 to be delivered.

The 450 is still in the box as Im too scared to fly it lol, my neighbours dad used to fly them so ive asked him to set it up for me and give me some basics.

I have had a Nine eagles 4 chan basic helicopter that i love but it cant really cope outside even in pretty still weather.

Whats a logical next step, i would sill like to practice indoors but be able to use outside - i would be starting new as the radio gear only works with nine eagle stuff as i understand?

Blade nano CPX

I have been looking at that - what radio would you recommend, is the DX4 a better bet than the Blade one they offer?

Is there any benefit at all from a dx6i on this helicopter - i know its better for the future i guess?

What made you recommend the Nano out of interest?

I used to have a T-Rex 600 nitro and a T-Rex 500 electric but decided to sell them. As much fun as they were to fly they cost a typical £200 to repair if you hit the dirt and the chances of that happening for me were high because I liked to perform stunts.

Maybe if I'm ever rich I will take up the hobby again :p

I've never flown a nano CPX, but unless it's dead calm, I wouldn't have much hope as they're so tiny. I hear they go through motors very quickly too. 10 flights is not uncommon before they're toast.

I've flown an mCPX BL (not mine I might add) outdoors in a gentle breeze and that was decent and good fun, but the 130X flies even better. I wouldn't be without mine. It's by far my most flown helicopter.

It looks as if these do as well, but I haven't tried them myself.

Edit: Sorry... it looks as if they are actually in Hong Kong after all!
