RC Nitro Getting myself a new toy

So back to the opinions then:)

FG don't want to spend that much as just buying a new cooker as well.

I'd actually recommend a mad force (pics above) if you want something that's fun. Getting parts is a slight pain, but I found a stockist that can get any part in two weeks so it's ok now. It was only about £300, I don't think it's been discontinued so you might find one.

It does wheelies! All day long!

Well for a cheap beginners car with enough power to be fun, plus the rwd makes it lively i would recommend the HPI Rush Evo. It's cheap these days, around £150 i think, and can even be bought on the high-street i believe.

More advanced cars such as the HPI savage or hellfire are very good cars, they have some more advanced features over the Rush Evo and are stronger.

Also you could consider getting on to build up yourself, i find it is much easier to fix any problems which occur when you have built it up yourself, here's some pics from my experience, worked straight for about 14 hours to get it built in a day lol

my buggy...franky horny imho lol.

if you want to find out some more in a slightly more concentrated arena i can strongly suggest www.nitronutters.co.uk. also if you are within range of dartford check out the dartford race track at www.thenewdartfordbashtrack.co.uk they have a season about to start, great track, proper timing gear, nice blokes.

i started out with a HPI RS4/3 SS kit which was great fun to build but for me got boring quite fast. i didnt have a real car at the time so going out was a pain in the ass for everyone else. then i passed my test and bought a Savage SS, spent a fortune on it and also got a Hyper 7 PBS which hasd next to nothing spent on it and outlasted the savage lol. then after a meet about 12 months ago i bought the Hyper 8 with the intention of making a beast, and i did. TNT modded WS7 III engine, digi servos, RB pipe and a custom shell later and it goes like the clappers lol. my biggest problem is not liking to see it dirty. and i will only clean if i am going to do it properly (full strip down and clean everything and then rebuild) which can take like 6 hours. at the moment the Hyper is in hibernation until the weather picks up a bit. when its just dusty from the track i dont mind, its when its caked in mud that i object lol.

Gaverick

Over the years I've built more cars, boats, planes and helis than I can remember (at 47 the memory cells aren't quite what they used to be ;) )

I probably, just don't have the time. However I 'll see it in parts often enough (broken/cleaning/servicing/upgrading)

Nice pics Bet it shifts:)

Todge

Nice pics too.
Unfortunately Dartford is quite a distance from deepest Lincolnshire.

Thanks for the links and the info

Hm decisions decisions

I'm just getting into Nitro after having Electric cars and buggies for a while. I bought myself a Rush Evo a month ago and had fun with it and learnt a lot. I have found a group of enthusiasts in my local area who race regularly have built their own tracks so I'm buying something better. Tomorrow I will be getting a Hyper 7 TQ Sport 28 hopefully.

Out of your list i'd get the Hyper 8. Mainly because parts are cheap and available in abundance, if you do break anything.

Good old days of RC racing - I remember getting 78mph over timed distance out of my RC10B3 - it was running at about 20volts though ;)

Electric is MUCH faster than nitro - more so with the latest battery+brushless technology...

Sorry to hijack slightly - I'm very interesting in getting a kit to build myself - what can I get for around £100-£200 (if anything?)...and I'm a complete noob btw (at model cars, not at building things!)
