With the X1900's out & about, I think we need to get a thread going for the up & coming CF platform to showcase these cards on.

I thought Asus were going to launch their RD580 board today to coincide with the X1900 cards, but apparently it has been delayed until sufficient stocks of the board can be produced.

Seems ATI really do not want any more paper launches.

edit : Anandtech preview of the board. Its old (Nov 05) but gives some good info for those looking.

I'll add my 2p to the info then. Apparently the RD580 chipset is already compatible with AM2, meaning a smooth translation for motherboard manufacturers when the new socket finally lands later in the year...

Simon.

by the sounds of that article it would be advisable that i hold out for a new RD580 mobo to go with the system i am about to order: (I would like the option to use crossfire)

x2 4400+
corsair 2gb pc4000
x1900xtx

am i right?

Good luck guys, I'm sure some of you are gonna be pulling your hair out with the early revisions of this new hardware, but hey its dirty work but someones gotta do it!

My hardware beta-testing days are over, but I look forward to seeing some results, I mean if nVidia can do it, it stands to reason that ATI should be able to knock up a decent motherboard, although as I remember the first few nVidia efforts (crush?) weren't that great!

Oh well maybe ATI can do what nVidia failed to do straight away, which is produce a stella product that works with all your hardware out the box (inc drivers etc). . .
