Check out the pun!
Have had the last couple weeks or so with very little work to do, last week i had zero. So, pulled into directors office just now. Turns out the Engineering industry is in a dry spell and there isn't enough work they can win to keep me going. Out of the four Technicians here, two are senior and one is junior (i.e. sending to college), leaving me, the normal one, the main expendable one.
This will result in reduncancy (the pun!
), after a fortnight's 'consulting period'. So to the question: Does anyone know what this will involve? Will it look bad on my reference? Would i usually get some sort of financial pay off?
I'm kinda not worried as the industry lacks people at the moment and my skills/experience seems quite transferrable, at worst i'd just go into I.T. (which is what my quals are in).
