Hi,

I currently got 1600 DDR3 Kingston RAM but what percentage gains are there to upgrade maybe to 2133 / 2200.

My mate says there's only about 10% gain which wouldn't justify the expense.

yea it would be.

the most you need is 1600mhz at the moment, game wouldn't take advantage of memory that fast. i run 1333mhz and i run all my games, including bf3 fast enough...

the only time you would need that sort of memory is in a workstation or video/photo editing systems... applcations such as photoshop would take advantage of memory that fast.

Even then, with video/photo editing, it's way more beneficial to upgrade the HDD to an SSD instead. Stick with 1600mhz, you'll notice no difference from the speed upgrade.

use this and post your memory scores

Its like I run 7gb ddr3 1333mhz via 3 x2gb and 1x1gb sticks and even if i used 1600mhz memory I would see an extra frame or so... so their isn't much point.
