Havent had the problem for a week and now today its making my pc virtually unusable. The graphics are all screwy in the bios as well. Somehow it hasnt crashed yet so i've uploaded some screenshots, any ideas ?:mad

tried startin in safe mode?
i had something similar when i loaded my monitor software.
worth a try i suppose

I had this problem with an old 9600XT (in the time when the 9800 by ati was king) worked out the fan had stopped working and then melted to the card because it was getting sooo hot. I'd try a difference graphics card test it under load see if u get same issue. if not ya just need a new GPU

I had that exact problem with my old PC, first thing i thought was graphics card so after exploring what i thought else could be wrong i bought a new one, didnt solve the problem..

now i'm not saying this is whats wrong with yours but after an hell of a lot of research it seemed the only solution i could fine was something to do with the APG/PCI connector on the motherboard starting to break/warp slightly causing the actual physical contacts not to touch properly or something along those lines, i got told the only way to resolve the matter was to have a new motherboard, but after having a fiddle with the graphics card and reseating it a few times the problem went away and hasn't returned since, hope you can get yours sorted out

Cheers for the reply, its working in safe mode, but the graphics are all screwy. I'm going to try and borrow a graphics card to see if it makes a difference, i dont want to spend on a new gfx if i need a new motherboard as well :/

take the card out, clean it and reseat it first of all, see if it helps

lines across the screen looks very much like the GPU but as stated, need to start eliminating potential root causes by sticking in bits that are known to be 'good'

you don't have a really sharp bend in your monitor cable or anything do you?

It looks same as my card did on its last legs and about to die.

Think overheating was the problem I have a dust build up problem and I think that caused it while playing games.

But do what I did make sure it is not something else you never know you might get some more life out of it yet.
