hi guys

i have a 120 gb hard drive split in 2, one for windows, one for muisc.

is there any way i can re-partion it so that its just one full drive with winodws on it, i don't want to re-install windows i only did it the other week but i am getting a 1tb which i'm gonna use for media stuff.

thanks

Easiest :

* Wait for your TB drive to arrive

1) copy all the files from the media partition to the new drive
2) delete media partition
3) resize system partition to fill disk

Trickier :

* Don't wait for your TB drive to arrive

1) free up as much space as you can on the first partition
2) move as many files as you can from the media to the first partition
3) use partitioning software to make media partition the smallest it will go, and move it to the end of the disk
4) use partitioning software to make first partition the largest it will go
5) if you still have files left in the media partition, repeat step 2 onwards until all files have been moved or until your patience expires

I assume you have some decent partitioning software (ie, not the Windows built-in one). I've had success on lots of occasions with gparted livecd.

Echoing matja, i would just wait for your TB drive to arrive and then copy your music onto that. Then using your favourite partitioning program, resize the windows partition back to fill the disk (I recommend Acronis Disk Director).

also, parition magic is a death trap.

use gparted it's a 50mb bootable ISO (burn it to disc as an image using imgburn, reboot and use that to remove the 2nd partition

so much safer than partition magic, and a lot better.
